Reflection Journal
Cover Letter
Throughout my experience, I have learned that cover letters are very clear and to the point. They are designed to help employers get to know you in less than a minute.
Mock Interview
From the mock interview, I have discovered that you need to know what your target company is looking for before you submit your resume. I also learned in the interview that the more knowledge you have concerning the company (and what is going on in the company), makes you look very good.
Mentor Interview
Treating the mentor interview as an interview, I entered with the prospect of a recommendation for a possible internship. Looking up some information before the mentor interview and talking to them about it was a huge plus.
Resume Review
I learned a lot about using adjectives, formating your resumes, and the usage of different font sizes in the appropriate places.
Career Workshop
Networking allows you to build an arsenal of key players around the world. If there is a position that they think you will do well in, they will recommend you and select you to fill the position. (This is crucial in the real world as the economy is down.) Some helpful tips to Networking are:
1. Know that there are many other people with a chance, but be prepared. Know exactly what you want out of the company's phone call.
2. Make a powerful first impression, but not too powerful.
3. Learn something from every contact.
4. Get two referrals from every contact.
5. Contact every referral you receive.
6. Thank all of those who have helped you.
7. Keep an accurate list of follow up activities. (You should probably write them down.)
Vision Conference
1. Be prepared to contribute. Everything you say should follow the "Me in 30 Seconds" outline. The statement should appear as a powerful statement, so people will notice you and respect your comments and proposals.
2. The hardest aspects in life are to remember, learn to apply, and let it become a part of you. Soon, you will better remember all that you have studied.

I have lived a good life, but this year, some might say that I am starting to live. This is the year for goals and achievements. Being awake and attentive leads to success. No one cares where you have been or what you have done; they are more interested in what you are doing today and what impact it may have in their own future, because that is what matters.
